In 1964, Kiwanisans from North Carolina and South Carolina joined together to build a cottage. With the help of Kiwanis’ two feeder organizations, Circle K and Key Club, the Kiwanis cottage has been serving as home for children for 50 years.
“Kiwanis and the Kiwanis Family (Key Club and Circle K) have been giving to Boys and Girls Homes for more than 50 years. Since the Kiwanis motto is serving the Children of the World, a special part of our world are the residents of the Kiwanis Cottage. During each year, Kiwanis members provide things such as clothing, toiletries, games, books and many other items. The most precious gift we give the residents of the Kiwanis Cottage is our love and what we get in return is priceless.” - Gary Cooper, Kiwanis District Governor 2014-15
