Lake Waccamaw, NC - A group of over 20 youth and adult volunteers from Peace Baptist Church in Whiteville recently visited with the Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina Chapel Ministries.

“During Vacation Bible School we chose B&GH ministry as our mission,” said youth leader June Hewitt. “The boys and girls had a competition to raise funds for a donation. It was a passionate outpouring of God’s Love.”

The youth presented a check and supplies to two residents from B&GH who work on campus as Leamon Rogers Memorial Chapel assistants.

“We appreciate the generosity of the Peace Baptist youth and their congregation,” said B&GH President Gary Faircloth.

The Peace Baptist Church group is planning to host a cookout in August for the girls and boys at B&GH.

“It was a beautiful blessing to have this group with us,” said B&GH Pastor Joe Kennedy. “They are truly seeking to live out the Gospel and be the ‘hands and feet’ of Jesus. We closed our time together in prayer and to hear the prayers of the children speaking to God on our behalf is a joy I will long remember. We’re looking forward to Peace Baptist returning”
