You're A Good Man Charlie Brown theatre posterLake Waccamaw, NC – The Thomas Academy Players will proudly present You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown May 16 – 18 in the gymnasium of the Catherine V. Powell Educational Center at Thomas Academy.

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. May 16 and 17 and 3 p.m. on May 18. Admission is $3 and the public is warmly invited to attend.

“We are just starting to scratch the surface of the artistic talents of our students,” said Dr. Geraldine Bradshaw, director at Thomas Academy. “We are so grateful to have Mr. Watts here to help them shape their acting skills while Ms. (Patty) Lyerly works with them on their musical talents. I’ve watched some of the rehearsals and can’t wait to see the final production.”

Watts is excited about this production.

“We have some very talented students, many of whom are being introduced to theatre for the first time,” said Watts. “There are some great things to come from the Thomas Academy theatre program.”

You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown follows a day in the life of the beloved comic strip character. The Thomas Academy production features seven students. Aside from title character Charlie Brown, other familiar characters in the production include Linus, Sally, Snoopy, Schroeder, Lucy and Woodstock.

“It is a new experience for many of the students,” Watts said. “I am providing them with techniques and instructions that are opening theatre to them in a new way. There’s a nervous energy among the students that we are channeling into this labor of love.”

Tickets for the show will be available at the door.
