Job Opening: Co-Parents of The Lake House – a program for teen mothers
QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a high school diploma, but a BSW is preferred. Must have the ability to handle teenagers with behavioral issues. The position is “live-in” and one in which you will be responsible for 24-hour care for 3 teens, either pregnant or mothering a child, and their babies. Co-parents will coordinate doctor visits, transport teens to/from school, jobs and babies to/from daycare, provide guidance with grocery shopping and preparing meals, as well as other similar duties. Co-parents serve as the role models to the teens living in The Lake House.

This position is located on the Lake Waccamaw B&GH campus and is an exempt, salaried position with benefits. There are TWO individual positions open at this time.

Job Opening: Maintenance Specialist
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of high school diploma. Proven successful experience in general residential carpentry, including sheet-rock repair, painting, door/window repair, plumbing, electrical, H-VAC, refrigeration, appliance repair and general building repair. A minimum of 5 years experience in building maintenance and repair.

This position is non-exempt, full-time, hourly with benefits. Scheduled to work Monday through Friday, eight hours per day. Possible overtime.

Job Opening: Administrative Assistant to the VP of Residential Services
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of a high school diploma, preferably two years of college (AA) or equivalent business school. Proficient in Microsoft Office, experience with word processing, excel spreadsheets, some computer graphic design experience/knowledge and background of filing, as well as other general office procedures. Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.

Part time, non-exempt, hourly position.
After 90 days of a probationary period, the position will become full time with benefits.
Work schedule is Monday through Friday, with hours to be determined during interview (for part time period).

Job Opening: Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations
A leading childcare organization serving abused and/or neglected children since 1954 is looking for an individual with a BA or BS degree and three years successful experience in fundraising, grant writing and resource development with corporate and private foundations. Proven ability to lead a national grant writing effort is a must. Willingness to travel and have the ability to develop lasting, successful relationships with individuals corporations and foundations is also a must.

Job Opening: Residential Counselor
Becoming a Residential Counselor isn’t just a job, it’s a mission. Are you ready to take that mission to serve the children in Boys & Girls Homes’ care?

B&GH is a progressive residential and community-based organization that specializes in treating the “whole person,” integrating physical, emotional and social well-being. The focus is on strengthening youth in personal skill building, relationships and guiding them through a successful model of education. We support residents who come from multiple placement failures and often are several grades behind in school.

Our Residential Counselors:

*Use the nationally recognized Sanctuary Philosophy and Teaching Family Model Program along with the B&GH G.R.A.C.E. Model of Care. These are evidence-based programs to help residents develop life skills and lead them to successful academic, social, physical and spiritual development.

*Provide a supportive environment that all residents need to thrive and feel secure.

*Provide a home/school like setting to support and encourage individual growth, a sense of community and independent living skills.

*Teach residents life skills, socialization skills, recreational and leisure skills and functional communicational skills.

Come join us as a Residential Counselor. You will provide direct care services to individuals living in supervised residential settings, promoting growth, independence, emotional healing and self-determination skills. You will be part of a team that meets weekly to support your efforts and provide training.

Boys & Girls Homes of North Carolina is accepting applications from married couples and/or individuals for residential services group home support positions. Relevant education in Human Services field and/or experience with residential children is preferred. This is a live-in position with a 10-day-on, 5-day-off rotation schedule. Salary is dependent upon experience and education. We offer an excellent benefit package.  EOE

Job Opening: Director of Arena & Farm Operations
QUALIFICATIONS:   Minimum – high school diploma, preferably two (2) years of college with a degree in business or management, agriculture or life science and /or equivalency in training or experience.  At least three (3) years of successful work experience preferably in business and arena management, and one (1) year of successful experience in agriculture and farm management.  Must be computer literate. Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.

SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly responsible for the training and supervision of all employees and contractors hired to assist in all Exhibition Center events and farm-related duties. Assist in the promotion of an educationally sound program of Agricultural Science. Responsible for all buildings and grounds that are amenities to the Exhibition Center, i.e., Conference Center, concession stand, ticket booths, horse barns, restrooms/bath houses and RV spaces.  Responsible for the nurturing and well-being of all livestock on the farm to include the beef herd and horses and any other farm livestock housed at B&GH.  THIS IS A LIMITED EXAMPLE OF DUTIES.
