Going to the well

A bucket of well waterGenerating content for a website, blog, newsletter and social media is a high demand process. Like many processes, it can become overwhelming and stressful over time.

That is why it is so important to develop a well of support so when you need a refreshing refill you can find the person with the right bucket of water.

Support is something the culture at Boys and Girls Homes encourages, not only for our children, but also for our staff. We recognize that everyone needs to be able to ask for help when they need it. But people will only ask for help when they feel safe enough to make the request.

For our children, that means the immediate focus is on building that sense of safety and security. We commit to doing what we say we will do. We create a structure so the child knows what to expect from day-to-day, hour-to-hour. It means making sure that our staff is checking in regularly to ensure services are provided to meet all those needs.

For all of us, knowing we have a well of support to dip into is a level of security we cannot afford to be without.
