Retirement Reflections

 Gary Faircloth

This year has been one of rapid and unexpected change. For me, this has included the decision to retire from Boys and Girls Homes so I can support the needs of my amazing and beautiful wife of 50 years.

Working with the staff at B&GH in service to children these past 12 years has been an amazing privilege. It has been a pleasure to be able to ‘come back home’ and try to help children the same way I was helped when I came as a 15-year-old boy. God has truly blessed me with this opportunity. I will always support the mission of this special place that I’ve called home since I was 15.

I have spent this past month working closely with new President Ricky Creech. He has a fantastic vision to continue making futures brighter for children, families and the community. I leave knowing that Boys and Girls Homes is in good hands. I am confident that I will be able to visit in the future to witness all of the good things that are happening.

Thank you for teaming up with me the past 12 years providing your prayers, treasures and “voice” for deserving children. You have played a big part in supporting our efforts to provide HOPE and ENCOURAGEMENT helping children be safe, feel loved and have the opportunity to discover their greatness.

Gary Faircloth is President Emeritus of Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina.
