Foster Care Consultant

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in the field of human services from an accredited college or university required and one year of directly related experience.

Experience: Must have at least three (3) years experience working with emotionally and behaviorally disturbed youths and their families. Experience in working with foster parents.

Conditions of Employment: Must have complete physical by a doctor prior to reporting to work. Physical health must meet all standards as established by the Department of Human Resources or other local agencies governing childcare. Valid driver's license and proof of insurance. Required to consent to a driver's record check through the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles prior to employment. Consent to an annual driver's record check through the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles.

SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES: Must be able to demonstrate all the technical and program skills required of a  foster parent. Advanced technical writing skills, treatment planning and behavior analysis skills required. Will be teaching TIPS-MAPP throughout the year. Ability to build relationships with other professionals and foster families. Requires extensive day and night travel to provide supervision and technical support services to assigned foster parents. Extended work hours are necessary on occasion. Must provide 24 hours accessibility, including weekends and holidays during assigned times (pager provided). On-call responsibilities may include being on-call to assigned foster parents, on-call backup for other program consultants and/or colleagues during their time off. THIS POSITION WILL WORK IN WAYNE, PITT AND LENOIR COUNTIES.
