The Jaycees cottage opened on the B&GH campus in 1962. Through the years, the Jaycees have invited the residents of their cottage to help with their annual Haunted House and other events through out the state. Every year, they host the residents at their annual statewide Christmas party at the Jaycee Headquarters in Asheboro. They also provide on-campus activities for their residents.

“December 2009 was the first time I ever encountered a place like Boys & Girls Homes. During that Christmas visit, I truly saw the future of our world in the form of six teenage girls living in the Jaycee Cottage. Through subsequent visits, I remained in contact with the girls who remind me that what we do as Jaycees lives with them everyday. They live by the values in our Creed and strive to become active members of their community, creating a positive change within themselves. These girls didn’t deserve the experiences that led them to become residents, but they deserve every opportunity afforded to them by their life at B&GH.”- Jocelyn Hardee, 2014 President, NC Jaycees
