B&GH Rodeo cancelled

July 29, 2020

Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina, in conjunction with the Southern Rodeo Association, has cancelled the 2020 Rodeo at the B&GH Farm and Benton/BTS Arena & Exhibition Center due to the continuing COVID-19 concerns.

“We wanted to wait as long as possible to make this decision,” said Equine Manager and Events Coordinator Amanda Thompson. “This event is something the entire community looks forward to and we plan to bring it back in 2021.”

The 2019 B&GH Rodeo raised more than $16,000 to support the children of B&GH.

“Special events like our rodeo don’t just happen,” said B&GH President Gary Faircloth. “There is a lot of preparation involved and we want to make sure to bring the best entertainment value to the community for the event that also supports the children we serve.”

Smaller events at the B&GH Farm and Benton/BTS Arena & Exhibition Center will be taking place while following the guidance provided by the North Carolina Horse Council and the governor’s office.
